1. Introduction
Welcome to Went (“App”, “Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
Went is a mobile application that allows users to track walking activity and location-based movement for personal insight and exploration purposes.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the App. By downloading, accessing, or using Went, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Went is operated by an independent individual based in the Netherlands. The Service is available to users worldwide.
2. Eligibility & Minors
Went is available to users of all ages.
If you are under the age of 16 and located in the European Union / EEA, you confirm that:
You have obtained consent from your parent or legal guardian to use the App, where required by applicable law.
By using the App, a parent or legal guardian agrees to:
Be responsible for the minor’s use of the App
Accept these Terms on the minor’s behalf
Went does not knowingly collect personal data from minors without appropriate consent. If you believe that a minor’s data has been collected without valid consent, please contact us at hi@went.health, and we will take appropriate action.
3. Account Registration
To use certain features, you may be required to create an account.
When creating an account, you agree to:
Provide accurate and up-to-date information
Keep your login credentials confidential
Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account access.
4. Use of the Service
You agree not to:
Use the App for unlawful, harmful, or misleading purposes
Attempt to access other users’ data without authorization
Interfere with the App’s technical operation or security
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
5. Data Collection & App Permissions
5.1 Types of Data Collected
Went may collect and process the following data:
Step data (walking activity metrics)
Location data (GPS-based movement data)
Email address (for account creation, login, and support)
Technical data (device type, OS version, app diagnostics)
Step and location data are used only to provide core App functionality and are not used for medical diagnosis or health advice.
5.2 Location Data Usage
Location data may be collected:
While the App is in use
Only with your explicit device permission
You can disable location access at any time via your device settings. Some features may not function without it.
6. Health Disclaimer (App Store Requirement)
Went is not a medical device and does not provide medical, fitness, or health advice.
Any step or movement data shown in the App is for informational and personal reflection purposes only. You should consult a qualified professional before making health-related decisions.
7. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the App, including design, software, text, and branding, are owned by or licensed to the operator of Went.
You may not:
Copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer the App
Use the App’s content for commercial purposes without permission
8. Account Deletion & Termination
8.1 User-Initiated Account Deletion (GDPR & App Store–Compliant)
You may delete your account at any time, without penalty, by:
Using the in-app account deletion feature, or
Contacting us at hi@went.health
Upon deletion:
Your account will be permanently deactivated
Your personal data (including step and location data) will be deleted or anonymized
Data required for legal compliance may be retained for a limited period
Deletion requests will be processed without undue delay, in accordance with GDPR.
8.2 Our Right to Terminate
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
You violate these Terms
Required by law or regulatory authorities
The App or Service is discontinued
9. Data Protection & GDPR Compliance
Personal data is processed in accordance with:
EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Applicable Dutch and EU data protection laws
9.1 Data Storage Location
User data is stored on secure servers located in Ireland (European Union).
9.2 User Rights (EU / EEA Users)
If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the right to:
Access your personal data
Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data
Request deletion (“Right to be Forgotten”)
Restrict or object to processing
Request data portability
Withdraw consent at any time
Requests can be made via hi@went.health, and will be handled within the legal timeframe.
10. Third-Party Services
Went may rely on third-party services (e.g. cloud infrastructure, analytics) to operate the App.
These services process data only on our behalf and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We do not guarantee that:
The App will always be available or error-free
Data will be uninterrupted or loss-free
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted under applicable law.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in your country of residence.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.

Email (if applicable)
Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
